Bilingual French English Programme

Taren Point Public School has established itself as a hub for learning the French language in southern Sydney. The whole school learns French language and culture an hour a week. In addition to this, they also offer a French immersion program to Francophone families. The program's success has enabled the school to become a member of the Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools (AAFEBS), one of only 3 schools in NSW and 15 in Australia to have this recognition.

The French teacher is parent funded and team teaches with the classroom teacher, teaching the Australian Curriculum in French (4 hours per week).

The program is offered in all years, K-6. Places are limited so it is essential to register interest early.

More information about the French programs can be found on the school website: https://tarenpoint-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/curriculum-and-initiatives/french.html or you can contact the French coordinator, Anyes McLean directly via phone 02 9524 6379 or email: tarenpoint-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au.

The program has the ongoing support of the French government in both Sydney and Canberra along with the Canadian Consulate.

FASS is a proud supporter of the French language initiatives they host and a community partner in the La Belle Vie French Market held at the school the first Sunday in May each year.
