The Union des Français de l’Etranger (UFE), is a network for French citizens, francophones and francophiles all over the world.  The Union provides a link with France, acts in the interests of its members, and provides support and assistance in all sorts of ways.  The Union was founded in 1927 and currently has 170 representations, staffed by volunteers, in over 100 countries.

The Alliance Française de Sydney is an independent, not-for-profit language and cultural organisation promoting Franco-Australian exchange since 1899. With an ambitious mission to spread the French language and culture well beyond the borders of France, it is one of the 834 Alliances Françaises existing in 132 countries all over the world and the most reputable place to learn French in Sydney.

Situated in the heart of Sydney in an attractive building designed by the famous architect Harry Seidler, the centre offers French courses, holds cultural events and includes a media centre and a French café, « Bonjour Café ». The Alliance Française also offers French courses for kids and French courses for adults at the Dougherty Community Centre in Chatswood, where they offer the same French courses as the CBD branch for North Sydneysiders.

Since 1989, the Alliance Française de Sydney has organised the annual Alliance Française French Film Festival. This prestigious festival has become a very important event in Australia with an exponential increase in attendees every year. In 2014, attendees totaled 130,000 across Australia and 41,000 in Sydney.

The Boules Artistes Petanque Club (www.boulesartistes.org.au)

The Boules Artistes Petanque Club share a ground at the Bexley Bowling and Recreation Club in Bexley North with one of the ‘traditional’ clubs whose members are primarily French and Mauritian.
For big competitions we have a large area with excellent facilities at Latham Park (South Coogee), which is our main ‘competition’ ground. We have a number of superb areas in public parks with a growing number of local enthusiasts in Centennial Park, Kirribilli (Milsons Point), and Ballast Point (Birchgrove). There are thousands of people in Sydney that who own a set of boules, we just have to encourage them to come out to play!

The Citroën Car Club of NSW was formed during the 1960s as a way for Citroën enthusiasts to help each other to maintain their vehicles and to form social links with people with similar interests across Australia. The Club has thrived since then. Our members come from all parts of NSW, interstate as well as overseas.
